The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North constituency, Suhuyini Alhassan was on Wednesday ordered to leave the Chambers after disrupting Parliamentary proceedings.
According to Peace FM's Parliamentary correspondent, Emmanuel Akorli, Hon Suhuyini started interfering with proceedings after the Majority Members in Parliament asked the minority side to apologise to MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Alhassan for calling her a 'bloody widow'.
1st Deputy Speaker Joseph Osei-Owusu describing the Tamale North MP's conduct as 'unparliamentary' asked the ushers to direct him out of the House.
The Minority side however refused to apologise.
Background
On Tuesday, as Lydia Alhassan was being sworn in as MP, the NDC MPs staged a walk-out while holding placards with the inscription “bloody widow.”
Mrs. Alhassan is the wife of the late Emmanuel Agyarko, who was the MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon until his passing in November 2018.
Lydia Alhassan contested and won the seat amidst violence in one polling centre.
The NDC has however decided not to acknowledge her until perpetrators of the violence are dealt with but the Majority insists she had nothing to do with the violence.
