Ghana media houses are expected to be neutral. Even in cases where they are owned by known politicians and popular partisan figures, we expect their media organisations and journalists to exhibit some neutrality and the highest levels of professionalism.

But the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia thinks otherwise, and has accused some media houses, especially the Multimedia Group, of dancing to tunes of the ruling NPP government. He accuses them of intentionally refusing to air the "Aagbe Wo" demonstration held last week at Accra

According to him, Multimedia ceased transmission on all their TV stations refusing to cover Aagbo Wo because of NPP's munipulations.

Speaking on Okay FMs "Ade Akye Abia" programme, he accused the government of being afraid of the massive turn out hence that unfortunate decision.

"They have created a platform and that platform asked them to boycott broadcast of our demonstration...to create the impression the turn-out was low....most of the things happening in the country they are behind them," he stressed.
