The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP], John Boadu says the Commission of Inquiry set up by government to investigate the disturbances that marred the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election last Thursday is 'not necessary' and must be struck down.
He explained that, the NPP did not enjoy such privileges from the NDC when their members were assaulted during the Akwatia, Talensi and Atiwa bye-elections years back.
‘Uncle JB’ as affectionately called in politics said he supports any call for the Commission to be canceled – claiming that President Nana Addo has been too compassionate to the NDC.
“Oh yes lets cancel this Commission. The president is pampering the NDC too much. When we were beaten, nobody set up a Commission to investigate, so why must we do that for them?” he questioned in an interview with NEAT FM’s evening political program, ‘Torchlight’.
“Some members of the NDC are even saying it’s not necessary so Nana Addo should just cancel it, period,” he told host Mac-Jerry Osei Agyeman.
Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia announced that government had set up a Commission of Inquiry to probe circumstances that led to the violence that occurred during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
The Commission was set up with the consent of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is out of the country.
A former Commissioner at the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Justice Emile Short is the Chairperson of the Commission while former Dean of the Faculty of Law of GIMPA and private legal practitioner, Mr. Ernest Kofi Abotsi has been appointed as Secretary to the Commission.
Other members of the Commission are Henrietta Mensah Bonsu and Patrick K. Acheampong.

ALWAYS POLITICS OF REVENGE, WHEN ARE WE GOING GROW. THIS IS STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND IF ANY OF THE NPP EXECUTIVES ARE FOUND CULPABLE THE LAW SHOULD DEAL WITH SUCH A PERSON(S)TO SERVE AS A DETERREANT TO ALL. NDC IS NOT PAMPERED. THIS IS DONE TO SAVE MOTHER GHANA FROM LIONS LIKE JOHN BOADU
John, some of these things were the reason why we voted them out.Don't ever think governance is about revenge. Are you telling Ghanaian that those shot were all NDC member? Be mindful with your words cus you probably might eat them back one day. Day in and out i lose interest in the party i have always voted for and that is NPP.
Akpeteshie no good kraaa, see john boadu talking like gyimini
John, I support you 100% Nana Addo is wasting time on the NDC. They can go to HE-LL.
Its up to you guys. You allow NDC to go away with double salary saga. You allow them to make too much noise in this country whilst our party functionaries sit by and watch them. Gradually they are building up with this noise to repeat the 2008 election agenda.
NPP AND ARROGANCE, JB ARE SAYING ALL THOSE WHO WERE INJURED WERE NDC. SOME OF YOU SHOULD LEARN TO TALK SENSIBLY. WE THANKS NPP FOR LETTING GHANAIANS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE PLANNING FOR 2020 ELECTION. BUT I HOPE YOU KNOW NDC ARE REAL MEN. HMMMMM.
You see John Boadu's arrogance... He call all other political parties in Ghana arm robbers. I call for him to be given the beatings of his life. Abo...a ba like that. Gyim...iii four
i agree with you JB. it is a waste of resources. Alternatively, all bye elections violence has to be investigated. what about those who took double salaries? president shine your eyes.
npp is an arrogant party, hear what a whole general secretary is saying, it means he doesn't care about innocent Ghanaian being killed. He is evil as his boss. Just wait for 2020.
Uncle JB, please two wrongs never make a right. Let the good people of Ghana see the difference between you and them. Let Ghanaians see the difference when it comes to good governance.
