Former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yamin says he doesn’t know the reason why members of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] are in a haste to get the Representation of the People's Amendment Act [ROPAA] implemented.
“Their[NPP] measure of benefit out of ROPAL will be the same to all political parties, so why their unending struggles, all we are asking for is good and sustainable process,” he asserted.
Mr. Yamin said the extension period proposed by the EC boss, Jean Mansa to the court is a perfect stand he sides with, because the Commission needs to prepare in all aspects before the process starts.
“ . . ROPAL is a good exercise to be embarked on in Ghana, but must be done in an appropriate and structured manner, not to disrupt the peace of the nation. The fact that other neighboring African countries have survived the process does not give us the yardstick to feel we can do it too,” he said.
According to him, the EC boss who is an expert in the field should be left alone with her team to handle the case in a lawful manner with the Haman Rights court than being forced by members of the government in power to implement a project the country cannot contain in the future.

This guy is not abreast with national issues and want to politicize everything.Has the NPP decided to implement ROPAL?No, somebody sued the EC at the high court and the court ordered the EC to implement but the EC could not, due to lack of resources and have asked the court for another 12 months so please do not throw dust into the eyes of the people. If I were you, I be doing politics behind close doors despite that you were born in the country.
Because ndc has failed to even read about ROPAL to know it that it was passed in the year 2007 so it is way over due. Again because ndc is not capable of implementing it with THE INCOMPETENT ONE (TIO) as their leader. Whether you (ndc) like it or not it will be implemented in 2020 election for those of us in abroad to get our ssenssibblle votes through. NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU, NDC YAAMUTU
I’m happy that Ghanaians in Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Burkina and Cote” Divoir gets to vote too
Kofi Kramo, thank you! Such persons like Yamin can only be lawless in their orientation and reckless in their conduct. ***barred word***, yamin!! lazy minds. This is exactly what they did in the run up to the 2008 elections only for Atta Mills to tell us, after unfortunate rise to power, that they will implement it. Lazy minds!!
Because anything new in Ghana has to be implemented by the NPP because it will never get done under the supervision of "IT CANNOT BE DONE PARTY' (The NDC). ROPAL is similar to Ghana Card, only NPP can get it done
And ask yourself why is the NDC highly against it
Buddy grow up the law was passed in 2007, How long should we wait
