THE NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) has alleged that personnel of the Ghana Police Service are unhappy with President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration for giving them “bad reputation.”
NDC Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo made the claims in a leaked audio recording available to DGN Online.
The recording is believed to have been taken at a meeting ahead of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency by-election held on January 31, 2019.
He appeared to have suggested that the alleged recruitments of untrained political militias of the NPP into the Service was not going down well with several police officers.
“The Police are not happy; they have been trained to protect,” according to him.
He accused the government of picking people off the streets and putting them in uniforms to give the police a “bad name.”
He said, “so you see, it is also shifting the support of the police back to us.”
