General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu says it is not a bother for the ruling party to involve the Civil Society groups including United Nations (UN) and Economic Community of West African State (ECOWAS) in the discussion on ending vigilantism as proposed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

However, he believes, it is imperative that both parties come to a perfect understanding at the preparatory stage before involving other stakeholders in the discussion to bring finality to vigilantism.

Notwithstanding any of the things we are going to do, it will be necessary that we understand each other and not UN and ECOWAS getting involved. But if their presence in the meeting will make the NDC feel comfortable, we don’t really bother so much about it,” he stated.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, NPP Chief Scribe averred it is does not matter the specific law which may come out to end vigilantism. What really matters, he pointed out, is that there is peace in the country.

“ . . it is in our interest as a party to ensure that there is peace . . . our only gain is to see peace prevail in the country,” he assured.

He however indicated that the NPP will still continue to engage the NDC is even prepare to use a fiat to invite them "so we can move forward".
