Former Communications Minister in the erstwhile John Mahama administration, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has hit hard at the Akufo-Addo government accusing him of "promising heaven but delivering hell".
According to him, Ghanaians have seen through what this current administration stands, claiming unbearable hardships as a result of astronomical fuel price increases, unfulfilled electoral promises and job losses have become the order of the day.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Radio Gold’s "Alhaji and Alhaji" programme, Dr. Omane Boamah said the NPP government has so failed to honour its numerous campaign promises, which won them political power.
“We are dealing with a government that came into office on the back of major promises; promising heaven and delivering hell. Hardships and when I talk about hardships, I am talking about fuel prices; if you ask yourself today, are you buying fuel less than what you were buying it 2 years and 3 months ago? The answer is an emphatic no. Juxtapose that with the promise that the NPP offered”, he averred.
“Talk to the civil servants, even releases for them to be able to push paper for them to be able to do their work, year in year out, this government has been running acutely severe arrears. I am sure Ghanaians are very much aware of the extent of job losses, not just to talk about job losses at the banking sector alone which are very obvious as we heard the victims talk about it in public”, he chided.
He patted the back of the Minority in Parliament led by Hon. Ato Forson for enumerating some of the reported job losses and potential job losses that this country is facing; reiterating that the economy under President Akufo-Addo and his government is indeed in shambles.
He asserted that the job losses within the banking sector is as a result of the "reckless, vindictive and targeted policies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration"; adding that many companies have also laid off workers due to unfair and high electricity tariffs.
“The effect of the bad economy has been that even Beer price has increased. The other effect has been that Yoghurt, even that is not spared, and so beyond the rent, food prices, fuel, transportation cost and all have gone up. This is a government that promised that they were going to deliver heaven and this is what they are delivering”, he slammed.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO SAY, BETTER ***barred word***. THERE IS NO NSANSA IN WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. ***barred word***!!!!! YOU ARE NOT UNDER ANY OBLIGATION TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH AND TALK ANY HOW. THAT BETRAYS YOU IGNORANCE.
Why is everything going up when the dollar is coming down? We can't blame the current increment on Nana Addo.
LISTEN TO THAT 1-D-I=O-T. NEVER THINK NDC IS AN OPTION.
hahahahahha, small boy Omane.
mo sa nkrofuo yi mo sore a na mo kasa basabasa. you're in hell because you stole to live in heaven and now no opportunity to continue that. akronfuo ne amanbofuo. you're talking of beer and yoghurt, aaa nsem fu ahi paa wo ati.
@Nkwas1as3m kwaaa kwa, I plead you should read Apam write up again. He said his light bill has reduced to 98gh. He also said that if Omane boama says beer is expensive, he should stop drinking. May be you need to read well before your ........
@Apam, way to go. @True talk, please don't be f001ish. Since when did YOGHURT become the yardstick by which Ghanaians judge whether life is normal or not? Or REGISTERING YOUR 4X4? Tweeeeeaaaa. As you might (not) know, the price of yoghurt hasn't changed. Don't believe everything you and your friend "Doctor" Omane Boamah are hearing in your somewhere. Try coming to Ghana and living here. Life can still be tough: we are a developing country. But services are vastly improved in everything from electricity (despite NDC attempts at sabotage) to education to driver vehicle licensing. Stop talking propaganda jazz and admit the facts before everyone's eyes. The truth will set you free.
listen to this mungu, in fact ndc is full of chaff, give us policy alternative and stop fuuuuling with your salivary mouth
what about food? i didnt hear you mention that
If the price of yogurt has increased then will the solution be to vote out the NPP and bring who to power, the NDC? So far any wrong thing the NDC has complained about the NPP equally happened during the NDC era. So if I am looking for a solution then it cannot be the NDC who is equally guilty. But the good things under NPP never happened when NDC was in power. Better Economic indicators, Free SHS, Ghana Card, Paperless systems, Railways revamping, Planting for Food and Jobs, 1D1F, Dams, Warehouses, Tax abolishing & reduction, Electricity tariff reduction etc.
