The National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has cast doubt on the commitment of President Akufo-Addo in fighting Galamsey in the country.
The NDC during the 4th edition of 'Moment of Truth' said President Akufo-Addo’s has failed in his promise to fight illegal mining in the country.
According to them, “in the circumstances, we demand that the President overhauls the Inter-Ministerial Committee against Illegal Mining and urgently review his approach to the fight against illegal mining. This is the time for President Akufo-Addo to rise above his sweet but hollow rhetoric and start to walk the talk. He must show genuine commitment and dedication to the fight against illegal mining".
Reiterating these comments during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Wednesday, Sammy Gyamfi said: “the President has lost the fight, he is not serious about the fight . . . when we talk about the lack of commitment on Akufo-Addo’s part to fight this, we know what we are talking about”.

What is the point of these pointless radio discussions? Which country in the world serious about development has MPs, Ministers, social commentators and party apologists spend 4 hours in the morning discusses newspapers? Add the hours up for all the radio stations and see how many labor hours we lose discussing newspapers, no wonder we are poor. The state should not be allowing our MPs and ministers to be doing this. There should a political off-season where these government appointees actually spend the time working. Like they do in the advanced world if you need a minister or MP you can call him for 1-5 mins and he/she would speak on the issues. We have to change these things if we are serious about developing. As for Sammy Gyamfi, I wont even waste my breath.
NDC may loose massively because of immature behavior of this guy. He never contribute anything sensible since. They are only desperate and hungry for power. "TAFLATSE PEOPLE"
