The Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has accused the ruling NPP of gradually reducing the ideologies of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
His comment comes after Ghana ‘failed’ to commemorate this year’s AU day which fell on May 25.
Parliament recently passed the bill which was seeking to scrap AU and Republic Days as public holidays and introduce January 7 as Constitution Day.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Mr. Ablakwa believes the move forms part of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s plan to diminish Ghana’s first President Kwame Nkrumah.
He however vowed that the National Democratic Congress [NDC] will restore the commemoration of AU Day as a statutory holiday when it comes to power.
