National Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Hannah Louisa Bissiw has descended heavily on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over his controversial comments about Ghanaian women when he addressed a forum in Canada.
To her, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has embarrassed Ghanaian women globally with the comments he made during the ‘Women Deliver Conference’ in Canada.
She, therefore, wants President Akufo-Addo to immediately apologise to Ghanaian women for his comment which is seen by some as disregarding women. “Our President’s comments have damaged the old-age struggle for female empowerment in Ghana. Such comments from President Akufo-Addo could kill the spirit and soul of gender empowerment activism.
“Women in this country are very disappointed in him, even in his government, he appointed a lot of women. Then that appointment means nothing to him as a President which is why he made such a disgraceful comment,” she cried.
The President in his contribution at the Conference in Canada, said he is yet to see dynamism in Ghanaian women.
“We are not seeing enough dynamism and activism on the part of those who are seeking. I am talking about dynamism where it matters…electing people to Parliament, controlling political parties because they are the instruments by which our societies make decisions,” he said.
The President’s comments have been heavily criticised by some Ghanaian women.

Hannah Bissiw unfortunately what the President said cannot be translated into'animals language' the language you understand for you.
One thing is very clear that our President is not a hypocrite. If you are not politically active and stay indifferent you allow fooolish people to rule you and decide for you.The population of women in Ghana outweighs that of men, yet we have more men in dicission making positions than women. And that is a fact. Therefore, we have to encourage more women to take up such positions. The quota rules and affirmative actions are just not enough in the long term. It appears as if without the lordship dashing the women the positions they are equally well qualified to possess like their men counterpart, they cannot make any meaningful headway by themselves. That in itself is very discriminatory and degrading as an able and confident woman. Indeed, the Government of the day can fairly provide the citizenry with the appropriate tools like education and awareness to bring all persons on board. I pray that NDC does not jump in here to make their usual populistic and hypocritical politics. Another stupiiiid and ***barred word*** NDC woman. She better ***barred word***!!
The president should apologize to who? The president said nothing wrong. Hannah Bissue or whatever you call yourself, the president said nothing wrong for him to render an apology, it seems you don't understand simple English, that is why you are talking like that. If you don't understand this simple English that the president spoke then you need English tutorials. Is a pity, such entities who don't understand simple English are also doing politics in Ghana.
I know Hannah B is a Vertinary Doctor and I expect her to be sen.si.ble. My late uneducated Grandma was more more sensible than this Doctor woman. Shame unto her.
Ghana politics has become cheap! What is wrong with what Nana Addo said? The drowning man will always cling to a straw true true. Ghanaians have become aware of the empty hot air strategy adopted by NDC. We know you now.
Agyie kokoko, putana, you went to a hospital to retrieve your donated beds. Did you know the number of women who were affected at the hospital?.Bayie kooor.
This is a woman who recently was holding a placard reading "Bloody Widow" disparaging a fellow woman. You saw nothing wrong with that about women. Some of these women are just plain obn0xi0us
