The campaign by Ghanaians to fight against the proposed $200m parliamentary chamber came to a fruitful end as Parliament announced Monday that plans to build the chamber had been scrapped.
That announcement was all Ghanaians had been fighting for and the ‘drop that chamber’ campaign could be labelled a success.
One of the vocal critics of the proposed chamber on social media, Actor John Dumelo, has reacted to the news that the chamber was dropped.
Dumelo, who got into V8 trouble for opposing the chamber, said the news of its demise was music to his hears.
He congratulated everyone who fought hard against it.
“I’m glad parliament has finally decided to drop the chamber. Well done to the millions of voices out there who fought for this. Together let us make Ghana a better place.” the future NDC MP tweeted in reaction to the news.
