Former Minister of Communications under former President John Dramani Mahama has written an open letter to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Read a copy of the letter below
Dear President Akufo-Addo,
Ghanaians are suffering excruciating hardships and need relief. You have increased fuel prices more than 22 times since you became President.
As President prices of goods and services are skyrocketing without a definite response and as for corruption its new synonym is PDS.
Webster University Instead of addressing these genuine concerns, with less than 5 months into your last year in office, you're on a renaming spree because you are in a hurry to appease your political ancestors and placate your base.
This is misplaced priority. But your renaming strategy has widely exposed your inability to build anything significant under your watch notwithstanding the unprecedented over Ghc80 billion you have borrowed so far. GHc80 billion constitutes 40% of Ghana's total debt since independence.

Nana, you have been lucky, very, very lucky to have inherited 3 well functioning oil blocks from President John Dramani Mahama. As a result of your predecessors hardwork, whereas John Mahama had 70,000 barrels of crude oil daily, you are reaping 170,000 barrels of crude oil every passing day. This is 100,000 more barrels of crude oil every day.
How fortunate you are? Yet, you're not grateful to God and country.
This 170,000 barrels of crude oil every day has translated into a whopping GHc6.8 billion revenue between January, 2017 to December 2018. I have not added 2019 oil revenue yet.
Mr. President, GHc6.8 billion from oil revenue alone could have paid your total free SHS expenditure for 2017, 2018 and 2019 which is GHc3.2 billion according to your own budget statements read by minister Ken Ofori Atta.
It is worth emphasising that the GHc6.8 billion having paid all free SHS expenditure will leave you with a balance of GHc3.6 billion.
The balance of GHc3.6 billion could have built 450, Community Day Senior High Schools which would have avoided the obnoxious "Double Track System" which President Mahama has promised to stop in 2021.
This means you would have over-fulfilled your promise "of building 350 Senior High Schools across the country in 18 months."
What happened to this promise and why are students still suffering under the Double Track system?
Alternatively, the balance of GHc3.6 billion could also build 14,400 dams at the cost of GHc250,000 that your minister has suggested.
But need one spend time on only GHc3.6 billion balance? No! This is because you're yet to show any significant development with the over GHc80 billion which you have borrowed. As earlier indicated, this accounts for over 40% of Ghana's debt since independence.
Mr. President, you have been given so much yet have done so little. As citizen not a spectator, I suggest you re-assess the promises that brought you into office. It is also important that you pause and listen to the forces that aligned to catapult your promises towards election 2016.
They're confessing their gross disappointment in your leadership.
Furthermore, if you will, listen to Ghanaians in general. The verdict is unanimous, Ghana is moving in the wrong direction and there is too much hardship on the land.
Mr. President, Mr. President, Mr. President...
Yours Citizen-Not-Spectator,
Dr. Omane Boamah

I think this guy is much more smarter than this. The letter is too shallow and not much thinking and analysis went into it. The issues raised are too elementary to come from him. But i am getting disappointed that no disclaimer has been issued by him, meaning, he is the author?? hmmmmmmmm.... the government could do better but the alternative could be suicidal
What kind of shambolic analysis is this? Because u can get free money u leave the consulting room to do propaganda. The simplistic nature of your analysis is what has led us into this mess so u were booted out. You failed to tell us how much debt you owed contractors, school feeding caterers etc etc signed fraudulent power contracts without looking at tomorrow and awarded contracts by heart before leaving office even as late as 6th January 2017 u awarded contracts.
If you knew thus why did you contribute in Mahama's disappointment?
Where from the sharp teeth guy.. they think we are ***barred word***.. Forget about power Omane.. I prefer a different person to John Mahama.. Lies and Lies..Ghanaians I dont know what is wrong with us.. I prefer our oil money been use for education than not knowing what is been use for.. At least Nana has put some money in the pockets of parents otherwise like they will be paying 4,000, 5,000,and 7,000 for their wards to just go to secondary and those who cant will be home and eventually turn into criminals.. Thank u Nana
NDC only have their eyes on the "OIL MONEY". The thought that they are not in power to loot from tje 3 oil wells makes them craaaaazy! But as God liveth, never, NDC! The oil money will used for Free SHS for all to benefit, though NPP is not a saint either...but lesser eveil of the two!
I think Omane Boamah forgot about the debt they left behind as well. It jumped from about 9 billion Cedis to over 120 billion Cedis. What did they accomplish with that dizzy height of debt accumulation? Does Omane Boamah know it needs to be serviced in addition to all the other obligations? Or they don't teach that in Asiedu Nketia's NDC School?
You see , characters like Dr. Omane Boamah is enough evidence to maintain NDC in the opposition.During his term as communication Minister he exhibit gross arrogance and still charting same path thinking Ghanaian's are ***barred word*** and don't think as he also posses a shallow minds analysis .
Omane Boamah and his colleague l00ters did not feel a single hardship in their time even though petrol prices were sky rocketing, electricity and water tariffs were hiked even in DUMSOR. They inherited Kuffour's oil discovery yet managed to "chew all the meat down to the bones" and eventually sent us to IMF,....for "policy credibility". The NDC borrowed as if there was no tomorrow, yet are questioning why we are now struggling to service their mess with these borrowings. They went round naming every single thing after Atta Mills until they almost deprived an old lady (Theodosia) of a hockey pitch named after her. This stammering m0r0n became so arrogant that he boldly insisted on nation radio/tv that a demonstrator who lost his eye through police brutality had used "tin tomatoes" on the eye, pretending to be hurt. Now that the source of their st0len monies and double salary have been cut, they are feeling hardship. They ain't seen noting yet.
"This is because you're yet to show any significant development with the over GHc80 billion which you have borrowed". This issue has been explained severally that the bonds raised were used to pay maturing bonds contracted under your term, and yet you expect the same money to be used to build infrastructure projects-aabaai. You created this monumental debt problem and leave it for someone to suffer to pay. Why is the educated ones always deceiving the illiterate masses. Should politics always be about lies?. You are confidently asking a question you know the answer. Interesting days ahead- Hmmmmmm.
