The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has taken a swipe at the dams being built under the ‘One Village-One Dam’ policy of the Akufo-Addo administration. He added that the dams lack quality, are inferior and get washed away by the rains.
“Their dams are even of inferior quality because when it rains, the dams are breaking and the water is flowing away.” Mr. Mahama indicated that his administration constructed 120 dugouts before it left office in 2016.
But he said the rains have exposed the lies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as all the dams they claim to have built have been washed away by the rains. He called on the people of the Savannah Region, therefore, to choose truth over lies since that is what the NPP is noted for.
“Always remember that when you deceive people, the reality catches up with you. By God’s grace, the NPP came to power and they have started building what they call dams. It turns out that the dams they were talking of are the same dugouts that we were digging under the John Mahama administration.”
At Gbiniyiri in the Sawla Tuna District, former president Mahama promised a new NDC government will connect them to the national grid. He mentioned the Gbiniyiri CHPS compound and the opening up of the road to the community as all done by the NDC.
At Busunu, Mr. Mahama assured the people his government in 2021 will build one of the community day senior high schools for them. In Bole, he called on the people to ensure the peace there is sustained. He added “let’s choose peace amongst other things because that is the only way we can develop”.
He mentioned that the NPP has stalled work on the Bole Nursing Training College among several projects.
He appealed to the people not to lose hope in going out to vote the corrupt NPP out of office in 2020.
He ended his two-day tour of the region and is expected to start his tour of the North East Region on Thursday.

Wopanaaaaaaaaa
The Mahama candidacy may well turn out to be the NDC's worst mistake. When will JM get serious for once! For goodness sake we are less than 18 months to a general election and he doesn't have a MESSAGE, and he is a communication expert? Meanwhile, there are so many problems in Ghana-unemployment, cost of living, security etc. Why can't you come up with coherent message? Do you think the NPP with all the resources of state will hand the presidency back to you on a platter? You are the only president in the 4th republic and one of the few in the whole of Africa who has lost a relection bid. Maybe the NDC should have voted and marketed a new candidate for this election in preparation for 2024 instead of bringing Mahama back.
HALLUCINATION GALORE. THE HEN WOULD NEVER APPRECIATE THE DANCE OF THE HAWK. EVEN IF THE HAWK DANCES ADOWA THE HEN WOULD SAY IT IS DANCING BOBOOOOBO. AAAAAAH JOHN YOUR PR TEAM IS NOT DOING YOU ANY GOOD. ABA ALL THE IVID PROJECTS ARE INFERIOR. I THINK YOU COME FROM THE NORTH, YOU REFUSED TO IMPLEMENT SUCH A POLICY TILL A SOUTHERNER DOES IT ONLY FOR YOU TO CRITICISE. AGRIC ENGINEER COME ON.
Can somebody tell the message of this incompetent Mahama at all?
oh John, can you be serious for once?. tell the people what you can also do for them. let me give you ideas. you could promise us increases in exports of farm products, clean gutters, strategy to improve safety from armed robbers who are now killing the police officers (it is a shame). close industries would be open again. no more dumsor (that one NANA has achieve that) think of something but do not say what you are saying. i feel ashamed.
So what is Mahama's message? He should stop wasting his time.
And they were not in your GREEN BOOK? STOP that! Ghanaians are now WISE!
And what happened? This man paaaaaa!
Still campaigning on infrastructure, infrastructure. This Mahama guy does not learn. You campaign hard on infrastructure, yet you are voted out. Instead of changing strategy, you are back campaigning on infrastructure. What incompetence is this? And by the way, where are YOUR dams, and why were they not featured in your Green Book?
A pathological comic as president again? No way. Maybe the '***barred word***' philosophy is still at play. What a calamity! Fortunately or unfortunately, his 120 dugouts or dams were not captured in the 'Famous' Green Book.
