The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has served notice it remains focused to resorting to constitutionally mandated institutions in the country in the fight against corruption.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, the General Secretary of the party, John Boadu, noted the government of Nana Akufo-Addo is committed to the fight against corruption, adding no amount of mudslinging and exaggerated claims of corruption will derail the train of good governance.
He said President Nana Akufo-Addo will always resort to the rule of law as the only legitimate and viable means of conquering systemic corruption in this country.
Reacting to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) press conference held on Tuesday, Mr. Boadu said the opposition’s stance reflects ethos and principles that have been rejected by Ghanaians.
“It is a shame that this message does not seem to have sunk in for the NDC. I suppose if you have been doing the same unimaginative and destructive thing for the past twenty-seven years, the longest any single entity has ruled in Ghana since independence, it is difficult to switch gears and come up with truly innovative thinking and action,” he said.
The NDC, he said, is too weighed down by its own poor history, but “we can’t afford to let this poor history become Ghana’s destiny”.
Mr. Boadu thus invited the public, especially thought leaders, to critically weigh the governance styles of the two parties, and to lead the public crusade for good governance with open government, as championed by the President.
“Everybody must feel free to interrogate Government actions, but the NDC’s campaign of falsehood and mischievous political intent really fails the test of serious and purposeful governance,” he concluded.

Stop deceiving yourselves. Which institution? The ones being remote controlled by your NPP.
THERE ARE A WHOLE LOT OF MIELSTONE PROJECTS THAT ARE IN THE PIPELINE WHICH INTENDS TO TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE POSITIVELY. NPP'S GOVERNMENT IS NOT A WEALTH AMASS GOVERNMENT. LOOT AND SHARING IS NOT PART OF THE NPP'S ADMINISTRATION. SOME OF NANA ADDO'S APPOINTEES COMMIT CRIMES BUT NOT WORTH TO A TUNE OF DISMISSAL AS COMPARE TO THE GARGANTUAN CRIMES COMMITTED BY THE ERSTWHILE MAHAMA APPOINTEES. NDC SHOULD GIVE US A BREAK TO PAVE WAY FOR NPP ADMINISTRATION TO DELIVER ON THEIR POLITICAL PROMISES/DREAMS.
You are not going to do anything we know. You are just making up talk since the NDC have you on the basis of corruption. u had us believe that the president is spotless but we can't help but to believe it was just a good image management. Prosecute the corrupt officials both political and public of the past government. Let the law deal with your own caught in the web of corruption. But we are not seeing any of this. The fact that there is no action on past and present corrupt officials is to say that the NPP are in to steal for themselves too. The NDC are worse than the NPP so I just hope they will keep quiet. They ran institutions of corruption schemes. Sometimes one wonders if they are Ghanaians. Now I wonder if our politicians care about the country Ghana at all. God bless our homeland Ghana God help us resist the oppressors (NPP, NDC and the ***barred word*** of our land)
ONCE UPON A TIME SOME GHANAIANS STOOD TO DEMAND "LET THE BLOOD FLOW" UNDER THE DISGUISE OF PROBITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY. THEY LABELLED EVERY SUCCESSFUL CITIZENS AS CORRUPT. FORMER HEADS OF STATE AND SOME SOLDIERS WERE KILLED WITHOUT GRANTING THEM ANY DEFENSE BEFORE ANY COURT OF JUSTICE. SOME POLITICIANS AND BUSINESS PEOPLE BECAME TARGETS OF PERSECUTION AND TORTURE. THEIR BUSINESSES AND REPUTATION WERE ATTACKED AND DESTROYED BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO SUPPORT OR DID NOT BELONG TO THE EXISTING POLITICAL POWER. THEY WERE BRANDED ENEMIES OF THE STATE. IT WAS THE ERA OF CHAOS WITHOUT ANY RULE OF LAW. MANY GHANAIANS FLED AWAY FROM THEIR OWN COUNTRY TO SEEK ASYLUM ELSEWHERE. THANK GOD WE HAVE BEEN SAVED FROM THAT REGIME. NO COUNTRY CAN DEVELOP BY PRACTICING THAT TYPE OF GOVERNMENT. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE ARE STILL SOME ELEMENTS OF THAT PRIMITIVEEE GENERATION OF OUR HISTORY WHO STILL CHERISH THAT OBSOLETE WAY TO DO THINGS. THEY AGITATE AND DEMAND FOR THE RETURN TO THAT CHAOTIC ORDER. THANKS TO NANA ADDO AND NPP GOVERNMENT FOR THEIR FIRM POSITION TO UPHOLD THE APPLICATION OF THE RULE OF LAW, IN SPITE OF THE PRESSURE PUT ON THEM.IT IS THEREFORE REQUIRED OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, POLICE, CID, BNI, NATIONAL SECURITY, EOCO, SPECIAL PROSECUTOR, THE COURTS, PARLIAMENT, EXECUTIVES AND ALL TO WORK HARD TO WEED OUT CORRUPTION IN GHANA ACCORDING TO LAW. WE MUST ALL WORK HARD TO SUPPORT AND PROTECT THE RIGHT METHOD TO FIGHT CORRUPTION. ANY WRONGFUL APPROACH CANNOT DEFEAT CORRUPTION BUT WILL ONLY GIVE IT A NEW DIRECTION AS WE HAVE WITNESSED BEFORE. WE CANNOT GO BACK TO AFRC AND PNDC STYLE OF GOVERNANCE. WE ARE SORRY NDC STILL WISH TO RESORT TO THAT OLD TYPE OF JUSTICE, THOUGH THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT WITNESSED THE MOST CORRUPT GOVERNANCE IN THE COUNTRY.
