National Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku has expressed satisfaction at the swift and timely manner in which the Minister for Education, Mathew Opoku Prempeh and his team handled the challenges that plagued the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
Scores of prospective Senior High School (SHS) students, running in thousands and their parents converged at the independence square two days ago in their quest to secure placements.
Reports have it that the situation was quite chaotic leading to some of the students allegedly collapsing at some point.
But the situation seems to have normalized as the Education Minister and his team zoomed in and proffered various solutions.
Mr. Awuku who took to his Facebook page to commend Napo as the Education Minister is popularly called wrote ‘’I commend the Minister of Education Hon. Dr. Matthew O. Prempeh and his team for the swift and effective manner in which they have handled the reported issues regarding the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).’’
The NPP National Organiser who is also the Board Chairman of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) said the able manner in which the Minister and his team handled the matter is indicative of the fact that the team is capable of restoring normalcy in the CSSPS.
He said ‘’Strangely, we had thousands of supposedly stranded students and parents at the Black Star Square three days ago, of which the number reduced to a hundred yesterday.
This clearly shows the team is capable of restoring normalcy regarding any difficulty.
