President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is demanding an unqualified apology from international media organisation, Al Jazeera Media Network, a retraction and apology for tarnishing his image over what he described as ‘inaccurate and unfair’ reportage in its Gold Mafia documentary.
A letter signed by Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante stated that; “I am instructed by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to demand formally that Al Jazeera Media Network (Al Jazeera”) retract immediately and apologise for airing an inaccurate and unfair documentary that contained spurious and unsubstantiated allegations against the President and the Government of Ghana.”
“It is imperative that you act forthwith on this request within seven (7) days from the date of receipt of this letter,” the President demanded in a letter written to the media organisation.
Nana Bediatuo Asante in the letter argued that parts of the documentary that indicted Akufo-Addo were malicious, defamatory, and a calculated attempt to tarnish the reputation of the President of Ghana.
The presidency denied Akufo-Addo’s involvement in any of the allegations that were made in the Gold Mafia documentary released a few weeks ago.

@Frank, Al Jazeera is owned by Qatar government, a country which arrests and put to jail anyone who even publish a mere accident in Qatar. A foreigner will be immediately deported if found of posting a disaster in Qatar online. Ask yourself why Al Jazeera doesn’t write anything about their country or their government except others. They are protecting the image of their country so they censor news from Qatar. In this case, radio Gold has much credibility than Al Jazeera. Why didn’t they ask the guy to provide evidence before publishing the news? Lets us also protect the image of our country.
THIS IS THE MOST ***barred word*** AND GREEDY GOVERNMENT ON THE PLANET EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GOVERNMENT IS A DISASTER.....GOD SAVE GHANA
Frank Kwame! You have no country apart from Ghana. You are happy for international media to destroy the image of Ghana and you think if your favourite party come power they can restored Ghana image back.
ALJAZIRA IS NOT RADIO GOLD TO REVOKE THEIR FREQUENCY LINCEENSE.
