Former Head of Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission, Charles Owusu has blasted former EC boss, Afari Gyan over his recent comment on collation centres.
The former Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, Dr. Kwadwo Afari-Gyan, reportedly described collation centers as the most vulnerable point For election manipulation.
According to him, this is because of the dependence on technology in the tabulation of election results.
He made this known at a forum commemorating the 60th anniversary of the political science department at the University of Ghana.
However, Charles Owusu disagrees.
"Since when did he (Afari Gyan) realize this? We've passed this stage. During elections, copies are given and even pasted on the wall at the various collation centres so what is he talking about??? He should come again. I don't think we should tolerate this. This is not something we should be talking about; we don't want to go back" he said on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo'

the world moves on we can not stay in the past. Professor Mills did not go with Rawlings, John Mahama did not go with Attah Mills why should Bawumia go with Nana Addo?
Charles Owusu Achimota Forest ***barred word*** makes too much noise. Criminal charges are waiting for you. The noise you are making cannot save you when government changes in 2025 which shall certainly come.
Npp need fresh ideas from outside the government. Dr Bawumia is the vice president and he must go with the president and if possible come later because his own words will be used against him in 2024 general elections by the opposition.
what advice did Dr. Afari Adjan take from any one when he was on the EC chair apart from saying go to court. now he wants to tell the one on the seat do it this way or not. receiving and cross checking 16 presidential results from the regions against 275 constituencies which is proper, easy, faster etc. we should do it like it was done at his time hmmmmmmm why not go back also to the opaque ballot boxes etc. this country is always going forward not backward
Is he the same Charles Owusu who was the Head of Monitoring Unit at the Forestry Commission when the late Sir John was the CEO?
This man Charles is not highly educated but he talks sense about issues more than the so-called professors and the phd holders. Just imagine and digest what Afari Djan said at the just ended event compared to Charles Owiusu’s comments.
