Kumawood actor Akwasi Boadi, aka Akrobeto, has blamed the excruciating power crisis under the Mahama administration for the collapse of Ghana’s movie industry.
According to him, Kumawood movies, produced in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, was not spared either.
He said purchase of the movies, often produced on low budget, declined because people had no power to watch in their homes or offices.
Speaking on Atinka FM Friday, Akrobeto said Kumawood use to release weekly movies but because the market had declined, movie production slowed.
He, however, said movie production has begun peaking because of the relative stable power supply.
