The private screening of the feature film ‘LUCKY’ was a gathering of movie lovers and critics.

On the 1st of September, Abstrakte Productions hosted an intimate gathering with industry leaders, influencers and media at La Villa Boutique Hotel for an exclusive preview of the movie ‘LUCKY’.

‘LUCKY’is a comedic-drama that features top talents like EfyaAwindor, KumiObuobisa, Fred Amugi, AkofaEdjeani, Kabuki Akiwumi to name a few. The story is coming of age tale about Lucky Barima Mensah, a young, suave university student that has just landed a date with the most popular girl on Twitter. The event started with a cocktail hour, where guests enjoyed signature LUCKY drinks sponsored by Belvedere Vodka and House of Cane Juice. Each drink was named after a main character in the movie. Songstress Ria Boss serenaded the crowd with a live acoustic-guitar performance, while evening was hosted  byLakeshia Marie of Ford Communications. The event was graced by 45 guests who are committed to promoting Ghanaian culture and support art as a means for Ghanaians to tell their own story. The film’s purpose derives from the adage

“Until the Lion Learns to Write, The Story Will Always Glorify the Hunter.”

The event closed with a provocative panel discussion, where guests had the opportunity to share comments and pose questions to the cast and crew. Themes such as generational gap in understanding, feminism and patriarchy were challenged and discussed.
