The members of Vision In Progress (VIP) can be described as Ghana's leading artistes, after releasing hit after hit over the years.They are adored by numerous fans worldwide and have established themselves as icons in the Ghanaian and African music industries.

The group, which has carved a niche for itself, has been branded as one of the leading musical groups with good stage performances and choreography.All those who had the opportunity to watch the group live on stage recently at the Conference Centre will attest to the fact that VIP is ready to take the local music industry to another level.

After taking a long hiatus to study the trend of hiplife music in Ghana, the group is back with hit songs like ‘I Think I Like Am,’ ‘Away’, and ‘Obroniwawu’. The songs, which are currently receiving massive airplay on all the local fm stations, have caught up with a large number of music lovers in Ghana and beyond.

As soon as the album is released sometime next month, the group plans to spend the rest of the year playing gigs, which it hopes will get creative juices flowing for yet another album. Almost all those addicted to VIP songs think its latest album is exceptionally appealing because they see traces of their own love affairs in the message of the songs.

It was astounding to see the huge crowd that greeted the group at the venues where the members exhibited their prowess as Ghana’s most acclaimed artistes. Their gigs recently earned the members another accolade as one of the most thrilling artistes in the sub-region when they doled out gripping performances to thousands of fans during last year’s Christmas and New Year festivities.

VIP is made up of Abdul Hamidu Ibrahim (Lazzy), Emmanuel Ababio (Promzy) and Joseph Nana Ofori (Prodigal). Their initial involvement with music started way back in the early nineties, at Nima, a suburb of Accra.

Many people have marvelled at their performance on stage, and the most current is the fantastic and unprecedented one they put up at the National Theatre during the Ghana Music Awards Night. They also toured the nation with the great Osibisa band. VIP was a nominee in the Hip-Life Rap Music Group of the Year category at the 2002 Ghana Music Awards.

Swimming in fame, they have won several awards such as "Artiste of the Year", "Song of the Year", "Hiplife Artiste of the Year", "Hiplife Song of the Year" and "Hiplife Album of the Year", all in 2004 Ghana Music Awards. Their hit song ‘Ahomka Womu’ also won the "Best Music Video Directing" award, which went to Felix Dakat.

Having grabbed the prestigious "Artiste of the Year Award", Lazzy, Promzy and Prodigal represented Ghana at the 2004 Kora Awards in South Africa where they really made Ghana proud and performed alongside renowned Malian musician, Salifu Keita among others.

That same year VIP represented Ghana as ambassadors in Athens, Greece as part of fundraising activities for the 2004 Olympic Games. VIP was also among a few selected hiplife artistes that performed alongside ace Grammy Award winner Shaggy when they toured Ghana during the 2003 Christmas festivities.

The two-day concerts took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on January 1, 2004 and the nation's ‘Wembley’, the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, on January 2, 2004. The event pulled one of the biggest crowds ever seen in the nation's entertainment history.

VIP was then flown by a United Nations chartered flight to Liberia and Sierra Leone where they participated in the "Peace and Reconciliation Concerts" organized by the United Nations and the Liberian government. "Thank You" concerts were also organized by the United Nations and the government of Sierra Leone in February 2005.

The group again flew to South Africa to accept the award for the "Best Group in Africa" in March 2005. In addition to that, VIP performed at the Nescafe African Revelation (NAR) finale at the Independence Square, Osu, Accra, on March 19 2005. Internationally, VIP has performed in the United States of America, United Kingdom, Amsterdam, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, and South Africa among others.
