Lawyer and Television Presenter, Sandra Ankobiah, has been chosen by the Legal Advocacy Foundation, a not-for-profit organization based in Accra, as Coordinator.

The formal announcement was made during an event by the Private Investors Protection Agency (PIPA) to honour the Foundation’s President and Founder, Dr. Maurice Ampaw in Accra on Wednesday.

As Coordinator, she will lead and head the Foundation’s programs and also liaise with institutions for support.

“We Saw in Sandra a female personality who is passionate and committed to whatever she does. She has shown that she believes in the course of the poor and the needy; a woman of high moral character and integrity,” Dr. Ampaw said.

“She is highly objective in her analysis and presentation on issues bordering the poor and needy in society. With her appointment, LAF will go far in achieving its mission and objectives.”

Founded in 2010, the Legal Advocacy Foundation is strategically positioned with the sole aim of bringing justice to the doorstep of the vulnerable in society.

The Foundation also aims at educating the ordinary Ghanaian about their legal rights and obligations.

Among other things, they also seek to engage in public seminars, legal outreach programs, legal clinics, and providing a platform for legal research of legal issues that has public interest.

The Foundation also serves as a pressure group to put the necessary legal pressure on state institutions so that they will be responsible and accountable to the people on whose behalf they exercise state power and authority.

Former First Lady, Dr. Mrs Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings was Guest Speaker at the event.
