Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has congratulated Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy for winning the Best International African Act at this year’s edition of the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards held June 28 in Los Angeles, USA.
Gyan, who also doubles as hiplife artiste, said he told Stonebwoy to “keep his head up”. “Much love… hard work pays…. Bhim… congrats”, Gyan tweeted.
Stonebwoy beat his counterpart, Sarkodie, as well as other heavyweights in Africa – AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria) – to win the coveted title.
