Nollywood actress Dakore Egbuson Akande says she is not eager to produce her own movies for now.
The 37-year-old actress who has acted in over 50 movies said she won’t be in a hurry to produce her own movies as some of her colleagues do.
Dakore Akande stated that she is currently concentrating on taking good care of her kids—and she will bounce back to work on her projects at the right time.
“I haven’t done that yet. Because everybody is doing, it does not mean I have to do it. Some of us are better actors than producers. Then, I wear so many different hats in my career. I can dance, sing and do other things, including TV. I will produce a film at the right time. I am not the kind of person that jumps on the bandwagon.
“There are so many stories and ideas that I have and I am cultivating right now. It is just a matter of time. I have two small children that I have to take care of at the moment,” she said in an interview with Punch.
Dakore Akande is an ambassador for Amnesty International, Amstel Malta and Oxfam of America.
She studied mass communication at the University of Lagos but had to drop out due to incessant strikes.
