The official nominees announcement party for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) was held over the weekend.  

The event held at the Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel  on Friday, February 26 night attracted some great personalities from the music industry, movie stars among others.

The event was hosted by Berla Mundi of GH One TV and Live FM and there were performances by Kofi Sarpong, Joyce Blessing, Pappy Kojo, Ackay Blay among others.

Even though most of the nominees had already been released ahead of the launch, the host went through all the nominations again and announced the remaining three categories "Artiste of the year", Vodafone Most Popular Song of the year and New artiste of the year.  

Among the familiar personalities were; Veteran Highlife Musicians Rex Omar, Amandziba, Diana Hopeson, actress Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo, Bola Ray, Pappy Kojo, Lexis Bill, Teephlow, Hammer, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, Kofi Gyan of Yoboyo fame, SP Kofi Sarpong, Efya, MzVee, Kofi Kinaata and many others were spotted at the event.
