Dancehall act Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, trade name MzVee, has landed in the United States of America where she’s slated to participate in the 2016 BET awards show.
MzVee was nominated for one award, the Best Internatiional Act – Africa, category – a nomination that turned heads back in her homeland. The ceremony would be held Sunday night at the Microsoft Theatre in LA.

MzVee would be competing for the award in a competitive category against Aka, Black Coffee and Cassper Nyovest from South Africa, Nigeria’s Wizkid and Yemi Alade, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz and Serge Beynaud of the Ivory Coast.
Sarkodie and Stonebwoy are the two other Ghanaian artists to have competed for the award in the past. Stonebwoy won the 2015 award.
