Conventional wisdom holds that even the brightest stars lose their shine over the years — but some celebrities seem to get better with time and celebrated Ghanaian highlife musician, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, seemed to be winning in that space.
He shared a photo of himself from the 70s on Facebook and it is obvious he has gone through some kind of enormous transformation, comparing his recent photos.
But should we say he has actually grown more appealing as he got older? His overall look clearly improved for someone who is currently in his late 60s.
And like his looks, he is one of the veteran musicians who still managed to be relevant.
A musician of great dexterity, songwriter, producer, and composer, Ambolley is celebrated as the first musician from Ghana to formally incorporate rap forms into local highlife rhythms and also created the musical genre, Simigwa.
