Music Producer Mark Okraku Mantey has disclosed that most likely, he will get married this year (2017).
Speaking with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, the Programs Director at Hitz Fm revealed that he’s found a woman in his life and looks forward to marrying soon.
“I’m not married but have three daughters with two women (Jozy and Linda).
“I’ve a woman in my life now so I look forward to settle down with her this year 2017 hopefully. Now that there’s change, I’m sure everything will change.” When asked what drives him as a person, Mark said “I love greatness and so I’m not down for whatever. I like it when someone says it can’t happen, it’s a drive for me.
According to him, he prefers greatness to money because greatness comes with development which inspires a person to go higher.
He noted that his father was against his decision of doing music but he promised his dad he will be one of the top producers in Ghana.
Mantey named his role model as Teddy Riley and says he’s still in talks with some people to get him to perform in Ghana one day. Edward Theodore “Teddy” Riley is an American singer-songwriter, musician, keyboardist, and record producer credited with the creation of the new jack swing genre.
Mark Okraku recountered an issue he had with music duo, Akyeame then as producer of their popular hit song ‘Brebre Obaahemaa’ saying they betrayed him when they paid royalty to one Andrew Opoku Amankwa in Kumasi.
“I actually Executively Produced Akyeame’s ‘Brebre Obaahemaa’ but Akyeame paid royalty to one Andrew Opoku Amankwa who had started helping them in Kumasi, so why won’t I allow him to take over, but they came back after promoting it to pay for the recording. I was promised a second album as compensation which was ‘Masan Aba’. ‘Masan Aba’ was also another case. I was disappointed to some extent but I loved Akyeame so I’ve forgiven them because I’m religious and believe in the good book.”
Okraku Mantey disclosed that his biggest act in terms of production and sales was Oheneba Kissi, adding that Lord Kenya was never part of the top ten.
“Oheneba Kissi is my top and second, third should be Daasebre Gyamenah but for Lord Kenya, he wasn’t even in my top ten.”
Touching on reasons why Lord Kenya wasn’t his top seller, Mark noted that the culture of buying hiplife was not stimulated at that time though Kenya was popular yet the purchase of his songs was low.
The former manager of highlife singer, Kumi Guitar added that Oheneba Kissi and the Hilifiers were not active on stage so they were not booked to perform but they had the sales.
Speaking about his ‘beef’ with Sarkodie, he hinted that he’s been a loyal fan to the latter but he believes M.anifest’s lyrics are deeper.
Rating MUSIGA President, Obour’s administration, Okraku Mantey said Bice Osei Kuffour though has done his best yet what was expected of him to do for the young acts and the welfare of the Union hasn’t been attended to.
He rated the MUSIGA President three out of ten.
He noted that his favourite Dancehall artiste is Jupitar because Shatta Wale is not doing real dancehall music. Okraku added that though Stonebwoy is doing well yet he is also doing more of Reggae than hardcore Dancehall.
Between Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba, Okraku Mantey opted for the latter as the most gifted highlife artist. He said Mr. Music man has disclosed sometime ago that his style of music is not highlife genre.
When asked how he wants to be remembered some years to come, the CEO of Slip Music said, “I want to be remembered for sharing a hand for those who needed support to sell their music or their act.”
Mark Okraku-Mantey attended Datus Complex Schools (Bubuashie) and continued to St. Augustine College in the Central region. In his school days, he was the first student to be allowed to play as official Disc Jockey for St. Augustine College.

“Mark and I have grown to like and appreciate each other. This is not to say that everything has been smooth, we have had our bad times but throughout these years, we have learnt to accommodate each other, studied each other and know our strength and weakness and due to this we cannot break up,” she said in an interview with Showbiz last Tuesday.
“For me, relationships are all about complimenting each other and when you get to that level nothing can come between you two. Even as his baby mama, I am still convinced that with or without marriage I am safe with him and he is safe with me,” she said.
One may think that Mark is only blunt when it comes to his job or playing the role of a judge but according to his baby mama, he is no different when it comes to his relationship with her.
“Mark is someone who doesn’t sugar coat his words or would say something to please you, no. He is a straight forward person, if it is not nice, he will tell you straight to your face, he is not like the men who cannot tell the women in their lives whether a particular hairstyle looks good on them or not.
“He is one person who criticises me a lot and for me, I appreciate that. His way of doing things always keeps me on my toes and I always strive to get things done right,” the host of Talented Kids on TV3 said.
“On the other hand, he is very understanding, easy going, hard working, full of laughter, God fearing and passionate about his work,” she added.
Commenting on if she is not perturbed about the negative tag that people in society give to women who have kids out of wedlock and in her case, it might even be worse as she is a television personality, she had this to say: “Of course not, I am not worried or bothered. After all society will talk about anything and anyone
In reply to when they would consider marriage since dating for 10 years is enough time for two madly-in-love adults to settle down, Jozy said, “we are not in a rush to get married, we are still young and are putting things together and when everything is finally set, we will let Ghanaians know.”
Jozy is the third of four children born to Mr and Mrs Adjei Tenkorang both based in Tema, She comes from Akrpong Akwapim in the Eastern Region. She is an old student of Abuakwa State College, Kyebi and she did a short course in Broadcast Journalism at The Ghana Institute of Journalism (Gij) and she is a graduate of Central University College in Accra.
She was the host of Music Music, Mentor, Who Is Behind, Duck Woman Of Change and a member of a working professionals group called Paddies.
She has two daughters with Mark Okraku Mantey; Ama Okyerewa Okraku Mantey, 7years and Akua Mantebea Okraku Mantey, 1 year, 5 Months.

Peacefm, why must you attach Jozy's pix with Okraku's own if u dont have a pix of the woman he is going to marry then u shouldnt have post that of the young lady even though they have a child together she may have started a life in a different chapter with someone by now so there wasnt the need since Okraku didnt mention her name in any of his words. He said he got 3kids with two women so y didnt u post the two women if that was what u intend doing. I dont think he has ever been serious with women and surely he is more than 40years and lucky he already got kids.
