It’s been argued that no Minister under President Akufo Addo’s administration has traveled more than the Minster of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Madam Catherine Afeku, just in one year of stewardship – www.entertainmentgh.com has heard it too!
After all the ‘rhubarb’ that ensued after The President’s media encounter on his 1-year in office, one of the talking points is the absence of one his sector Ministers – Madam Afeku!
Sources close to the Ministry suggest that the Minister is on another trip to Europe for some tourism-related trip and she is said to have gone to with Akwesi Agyemang, CEO for National Tourism Authority and Kwadwo Antwi, CEO for the Ghana Tourism Development Company.
For the Minister to shun a very crucial meeting like the Media Encounter that is supposed to chronicle the government’s performance thus year in its tenure, then the trip in Europe could be crucial.
The President
However, some industry stakeholders have questioned the incessant travels of the Minister, whose number of trips since assuming office is more than the number of achievements chalked thus far – www.entertainmentgh.com heard this too!
Interestingly, the talk of the Minister achieving virtually nothing for the sector thus far, reflected in the President’s address at the media encounter, where he failed to mention anything on the area of Tourism, Arts & Culture.

I wish to first and foremost render a profound gratitude to the writer of this piece provided the rationale behind the script is to attain accountability and transparency. As a matter of fact, the issues raised by the writer are nothing but the truth and requires the immediate attention of the power brokers. However, I strongly believe this piece would have sent thunderous waves throughout the country if the writer had contacted officials from the various agencies under the ministry for better details and particulars. In setting the record straight, I wish to bring to the kind attention of the citizens of Mother Ghana that, the industry practitioners are not only worried about the incessant travels of the minister and her partners in crime, the Ag. CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority(GTA) and the Ag. Managing Director of the Ghana Tourist Development Company (GTDC), but also the continuous usage of business class and quotation of the plane tickets at exorbitant Prices. In fact, if some of the prices being quoted by the travelling and tour companies that the minister and her accomplice are dealing with are to made available for public consumption ,then I can boldly say that, the nation will not only call for the head of the minister but also the heads of these two agencies. As it's already known, directors of the various agencies are not permitted to travel with Business Class. Anyone who dares this claim will only do that his/her own peril. The authenticity of this claim will be rightfully proved after the state prosecutor assumes office. However, if the brainwashed and bribed writers dare to counter this point before Martin Amidu starts his work, then the citizens of this beloved country should get ready for empirical evidences that would make them believe these people in question are looking up to Wayome as their role model. More rotten carcass will be spilled out soon.
There were people on Peace FM Entertainment review yesterday talking for the sake of it. All that the African person knows is the government must do A, B , C .... All you talking about the government not investing money into the Creative Arts Industry should tell me any feasible area you have researched that's worth investing in? Ex-president Mahama gave a huge amount of money to the Creative Arts but it ended up in the pockets of Obour, bcos he's the only graduate among you guys so he could beat you all to it. Now look at him, greedy balackman eating his way to death. Government can not just give money to the Creative Arts for the sake of it. You must come up with a proposal then call for investment. I don't blame you as most of you guys are SHS drop outs so all you know is blaming someone for not doing something. For instance you can arrange with say Uni of Ghana or NAFTI and draw up a curriculum for Movie Directing and then you can call for investment so that all the Kumawood guys you have been insulting will have some knowledge to produce good movies. Who's is controlling Gh Media? Look at how these iddiootts called Bloggers are messing up all over Gh? Who is doing or proposing what? You guys must get a grip and stop talking F0O0LISHNESS because you on air. My respect to Fred Kyei Mensah who's full of wisdom.
