Veteran actress Akorfa Edjeani-Esiedu has lamented she is financially challenged even though she has been acting for over 20 years.
“I need money. Honestly I do, I’m broke. But really how much do they pay actors? People don’t know that,” she lamented on Starr Drive with Giovani and Berla Mundi.
The actress said she does not act often because she is selective with movies to stage in.
When quizzed about how actors and actresses who live luxury lives make it, she said “they don’t get it from acting, I can tell you that for a fact”.
She noted however that Kumasi-based actors are paid better.
“So if they [Kumasi based actors] tell you that they making money from the acting, then yes”, she added.
The actress disclosed that she had a business she was running, but it was “hand to mouth”.
Akorfa Esiedu is set to premiere her new movie titled “Azali” at 7pm and 9pm at the Bank of Ghana Auditorium, University of Ghana campus today, Friday October 26.

Moesha has the answer to how actress and actors make their money these days :D
She was never a great actress. She was on screen for a long time, hence journalists always referring to her as veteran actress. Personally I never felt her acting was good. Her voice is terrible, it is raspy and doesn’t soothe, she has no idea about how to express emotions, instead she screws up her face (like in the picture up there) and whines. She doesn’t know how to emphasize, instead she starts shouting (something which Ghanaians do!). She ticked all the boxes on what we consider celebrity, in that she was was/is light skinned, and that was her only criteria. Ask yourself WHY a veteran actress was never picked up by Nollywood or even the present Ghallywood...? Compare her acting to that of Jackie appiah. Impossible. Akorfa ejeani will forever be known as only a TV Theater actress, same as Dinah Gbartey, Linda Emefa and the rest. And honestly, I’m not trying to bash anybody, but this is the Plain Truth.
why not go to ndc and mahama for help???
