Music icon Okyeame Kwame has commented on the road protest staged by Adenta residents saying the economy is becoming difficult as a result of economic situations across the globe.
“I think the nation is becoming a little hard because of the global economic situation. Britain is in Brexit, Europe is suffering herself so instead of sending their money to Africa, they send it to Greece.
“America is suffering, they have a bad leader. All these things are affecting our economy. So I think the politicians should come up and have a dialogue with the people again,” he noted on The Zone on Starr FM Friday when he was asked about the development.
Residents went on rampage Thursday by burning car tyres on the highway to register their protest over the rampant killing of people on the highway due to lack of footbridges.
Meanwhile, Pressure group, OccupyGhana, has condemned government for not being proactive in dealing with the carnage.
OccupyGhana is calling on government to “immediately” construct rumble strips “on the long stretch of road beginning from the University of Ghana to the Pantang end of the highway to reduce the unnecessary speeding of drivers.”
It also added: “Government should replace all faulty traffic lights that have been faulty with modern and solar powered controlled traffic lights. Further to this, extra traffic lights with toucan crossing system must be fixed to allow free flow of traffic.”
Commenting on the unfortunate death of Kumawood actor Abass, he disclosed that security person as his body guard is not his priority as at now but believes the Supreme Being is his protector.

If you have a country where the president, the Chief Justice and Attorney General are all Akuffos. Then the Finance Minister, the road minister, works and housing minister, etc are nephews of the presidents. The secretary to the cabinet, executive secretary to the president, special assistants, etc are all close relatives. How do you turn to blame Trump for our woes? How does our president call these relatives to order when they go wrong? Bad governance is our bane not US economy.
Ignorance is a disease. Some of the musicians were on the payroll of NDC but with the entry of NPP in government, life has become difficult for them and Okyeame Kwame is no exception. Talking about US governance is indicative of how porous his mind is on governance issues.
America has a bad leader? lol you guys are funny. if our leaders were 10% as patriotic as Trump, we wont be where we are.
***barred word*** boy, what do u know about america to say they have a bad leader?did u vote in their election? take care of ur country and stop blaming others
O.K, how does America's bad leadership affect the pockets Ghanaians, tell me?. Did you hear from Ghanaians in U.S. complaining that because of Pres. Trump they cannot fine any job to do? I am tired of hearing from Ghanaians who do not know anything about U.S. politics complaining about the politics of the country they do not live in. Let Ghana fix her own problem instead blaming Trump for problem in Ghana and Africa in general.
NPP won the elections through deception.looks easier from the outside .Mahama was on cause ,but Ghanaian,s misunderstood him. Scrapping teacher allowances was grave on his part .On the other hand ,Mahama will be elected president in 2020
Say the truth and be free. The current leaders of Ghana are simply not up to the task. They have their priorities upside down.
I believe the big player countries are getting fed up with Africa. Like US, the president thinks they also have problems to fix. Our Leaders have to be more patriotic and think about their countries more. Ghana cannot always beg.
