It is often said that ‘the best comes from the west’, though there is nothing to prove this saying, it has been an accepted adage.

The best resources in Ghana are said to be found in the western part of the country, like gold, diamond and most importantly cocoa, with the greatest achievement being the discovery of oil in commercial quantities.

To further expose the great things noted with the Western Region, event organizers, Spakhouse Productions is powering a pageant “Face of the West”.

Face of the West is a beauty pageant with a strong purpose of uniting the Western Region on the platter of beauty, education and style. It will, in this process promote the African beauty in its originality. The contest will be devoid of western values of measuring beauty.

The concept seeks for the most beautiful lady in the Western Region with brains to project the true African values. Forms are now available and being sold at Queens Land Hotel, Chinese Fast Food, Skyy Power FM, ROK FM, and Help FM.

The eventual winner aside being an ambassador to the region, will be expected to help in creating jobs for the youth in Western Region, also touch on sanitation and humanitarian works.

For her prize, she would embark on a trip to South Africa with all expenses paid plus souvenirs and cash. The second position takes home a plasma TV plus souvenirs and cash, whiles the third placed lady gets a Laptop, souvenirs plus cash price. Auditions will then be held on the 13th of March 2010 to select contestants for the show.
