The Queen�s Baton Relay for the Commonwealth Games to be held Glasgow, in July was on Monday welcomed by the people of Eastern Region in style.
It was protectively carried by traditional war men draped in their war apparel amidst gunshots.
The Baton was delivered to Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, the Paramount Chief of Akwamu State at a ceremony at Akwamufie in the
Asuogyaman District.
He then handed it over to Helen Adjoa Ntoso, the Eastern Regional Minister, who officially received it on behalf of the people of the region and held it across some principal streets of Akwamufie.
The Baton was then marched through to Juapong in the North Tongu District where Ms Ntoso then handed it over to Mr Okudjeto
Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu.
The Baton would leave Ghana on Monday for Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, and Kenya among other countries.
