Ghana will seek to host the North/West African Cricket Conference (NWACC), slated for October as part of efforts to develop the sport in the country.

Ghana is hoping to play host to the rest of the member countries to help promote the game of cricket and whip up the interest and passion of people in the sport.

In an interview with GNA Sports, Mr. Henry Ackom, Cricket Operations Officer (COO) of Ghana Cricket Association said there was the need for Ghana to host the championship as it will help sensitize people on how the game of cricket is gaining popularity in Ghana and helping the young ones with passion for the game to embrace it”.

He later called on all stakeholders, individuals, Government and corporate organisations to come on board to help sponsor the event and create awareness in their bid to host the championship.

The last edition was hosted by The Gambia.
