Outgoing Black Meteors Management Committee Chairman Ransford Abbey has expressed satisfaction as he takes a bow as leader of the national U-23 soccer side.
He and the technical team managed a gold for Ghana in the just-ended 10th All African Games held in Mozambique, and that has stirred him to say, Im glad Im leaving on a good note.
The players and the technical team deserve all the praise taking into account the hustle we went through during the competition, he said on Asempa FM yesterday.
His post as the Meteors chief has been taken over by MNS Doe, and he is currently heading the Media Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The former Kessben FC chief executive officer failed to qualify Ghana to the last Olympic Games hosted by China and the impending to be staged in London next year.
The Meteors defeated their South African counterparts 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 regulation draw.
The triumphant team are expected to arrive from Maputo tonight.
