Appiah�s Black Stars will be involved in two crucial 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho on the road.
The soft-spoken ex-Ghana captain claims he has learnt a lot from the trip.
�I think it has been very useful,� Appiah told the BBC in an interview.
�I have learnt a lot, not only tactically but about what the physio does and also the psychologist and the other departments around the team.
�I have had an opportunity to speak to David Platt, Brian Kidd and manager Roberto Mancini as well.
�There are some things the manager has told me about how he sees the game � and he has been very helpful.�
His visit to Eastlands is part of the Ghana Football Association�s partnership agreement with the club.
