The football pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium has almost recovered from the recent deterioration.
The pitch, which was recently a subject of public discussion, according to officials of the National Sports Authority (NSA) has seen a 70-80 per cent recovery rate.
According to a source at the NSA, the pitch has regained its green nature following measures adopted by the NSA and Green Grass Technology (GGT)- managers of the pitch to restore it.
The source noted that, funds had been made available for the routine maintenance of the pitch which has undergone intensive re-grassing.
The source told the GNA Sports that, managers of the pitch are currently re-seeding patched areas after which they expect to make up for the remaining 20 per cent.
The GNA Sports gathers that, the NSA has already constructed a bore hole to serve as a source of water supply for the pitch, whilst plans are in place to add another.
The Source said experts were working on the quality of water in the borehole to reduce the salt contents to make it suitable for watering.
