Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah has donated over fourteen thousand dollars to his alma mater and orphanages in the Obuasi municipality.
The Evian Thonon defender arguable the most disciplined defender in the ongoing World Cup as part of his social responsibility and his role model gesture donated items worth over GHC30,000 to his former schools, Orphanages and a God mother who encouraged him in his young days.
Schools that benefited were the Obuasi Anglican Primary and J.H.S school where he schooled between the age of 6 to 15 years and Obuasi Senior/Technical School.
The France based defender presented items like jerseys, footballs, boots, food items and cash donation of $3500.
Two Orphanages namely Islamic Educational Complex and Adullam Orphanage School all from the Obuasi Municipality benefited from items like food stuffs, toiletries, bags of rice and cash donations.
Mensah who also visited his 88-year-old God mother donated an undisclosed amount to her for her support during his young playing days in Obuasi.
The 2009 U-20 gold medalist is currently being chased by scouts in Italy and Spain after having a good tournament despite Ghana�s group exit.
