The Team �C�, made up sportsmen from the Ghana Navy Fleet and Stores Depot, on Friday lifted the trophy at this year�s Ghana Navy Inter-Ports Sports Competition organized at Essipong near Takoradi with 51 medals.
The medals won by the team in the competition included thirty-one gold, thirteen silver and seven bronze medals.
Team �B� of the headquarters of Western Naval Command placed second with 35 medals including five gold medals, 14 silver medals and sixteen bronze medals.
Team �A� of the Navy Headquarters and Eastern Naval Command came third 26 medals made up of three gold medals, 12 silver medals and 11 bronze medals.
Commodore Mark Yawson, Chief Staff Officer at the Navy Headquarters who closed the competition, commended participants for their good sportsmanship.
He advised those who would be selected to represent the Ghana Navy in the forthcoming Ghana Armed Forces Sports Competition to train hard to make the Ghana Navy proud at the competition
