The newly built multi-purpose Cape Coast Stadium, will officially be commissioned on Tuesday, 3rd may, 2016, at Cape Coast in the Central Region.
The multi-purpose stadium, which has been equipped with some modern sports facilities like, gym, a football pitch with natural turf, handball court, tennis court, boxing training field and other sporting facilities was built by the Chinese government for Ghana.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuje confirmed this when he met a delegation from China at the ministry.
“The Cape-Coast Stadium would officially be commissioned on May 3, 2016. As you all know, it was completed some months ago and so it would be officially commissioned to allow sporting activities to take place,” he said.
The completion of the stadium brings the number of international stadiums in Ghana five, with the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi, which is a private property shooting the number to six.
