The premiership's top four-placed sides would have to wait till next Wednesday to kick off the lucrative Top 4 competition.
The competition which is organized by the Ghana League Clubs Association was billed to start Sunday, August 23.
But organizers of the off-season event which pits the top four sides at the end of the premiership league season together announced the decision at Thursday's launch of the competition that it would rather kick-off on Wednesdy, 26th August, 2009.
New champions, Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko, Heart of Lions and King Faisal who are all past winners of the competition would be battling for the title. According to GHALCA, the decision was to help publicize the competition which has suffered low patronage in the past. Hearts of Oak will host King Faisal in Accra while Asante Kotoko play Heart of Lions in Kumasi on the opening day.
