Michael Essien has arrived in London to begin the start of his recuperation from a knee injury sustained during the African Nations Cup.
The Ghana player left the Black Stars camp late on Wednesday and touched down at Heathrow airport on Thursday morning still on crutches.
Essien, who played just 45 minutes after coming on as a second half substitute in Ghana's opening 3-1 loss at the Nations Cup to Ivory Coast was ruled out of the rest of the tournament in Angola after suffering the damage in training on Sunday.
He would assessed later this week to discover how long he will be out for as he continues his recovery.
