A select team led by Togo international striker Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor will face Liberty Professionals in a charity game on Tuesday, July 5 at the Carl Reindorf Park, Dansoman, Accra.
The match dubbed Adebayors parting shootout is to commemorate the Manchester City strikers stay in Ghana during the off-season. It will also serve as his final send-off ahead of his departure for England to prepare for the new soccer season.
Ms Foussena Djagba, Managing Director of Zed Sports International, organizers of the match, said 23 players from Togo have arrived for the game. She said it will also provide an opportunity for fans to see Adebayor in action for the last time before he departs for his base abroad.
Ms Djagba said the striker will also use the opportunity to thank Ghanaians for their unflinching support during his stay in the country. Players expected to feature for the Adebayor XI include ex-Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, Sulley Muntari and Laryea Kingston amongst others.
The gates will be opened free to the sporting fans and supporters.
