Ghana defender Isaac Vorsah will miss the Black Stars 2012 Africa Cup of Nations opener against Botswana after Caf slapped just a one-match ban on him.
The Black Stars defender was sent off during the final qualifier against Sudan in September after an altercation in the game.
This sparked fears that he could be slapped with a three match ban which means he will miss all the group matches in the tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next month.
But Caf insiders have told GHANAsoccernet.com that the referee of the game in Omdurman recommended a two-match ban for the key Ghana player.
Having served the first ban with his sending off in the game, Vorsah will only be missing one match for the Black Stars.
This means he will be available to play in the subsequent tough Group D matches againstMaliandGuinea.
The news comes as a boost for coach Goran Stevanovic who is expected to name his squad next month.
