Ghana star Andre Ayew was left keyed up after he helped Marseille produced a good day for a football miracle at Borussia Dortmund in the Uefa Champions League final group game on Wednesday night.
The sensational midfielder inspired the struggling French giants with a sublime goal after he nodded in from a Morgan Amalfitano corner to cancel their two goal deficit in a highly explosive game at Westfalenstadion.
Substitute Mathieu Valbuena scored the winner with three minutes left to send Marseille through to the knockout phase of Europe elite inter-club competition.
Its a match that will live long in the memory, and even longer if we can continue through to the quarter-finals, Ayew said to the Uefa website.
We were very happy when the third goal went in, but the match wasnt finished yet. Wed come a long way, but we owed it to ourselves to put in a huge defensive effort to keep our lead and go through.
The 21-year-old also praised the mentality of his team-mates.
It was very pleasing and it proved that were men that were determined and never give up. At 2-1, we knew we still had a chance. We didnt give up and we showed that the game isnt over until the referee blows his whistle.
