KUMASI Asante Kotokos Executive Board Chairman, Dr. K.K. Sarpong is not happy about the clubs away performance in the league so far. He consequently cautioned Kotokos Head Coach Maxwell Konadu to buck up in that regard; or the club would take a decision on him.
Despite occupying the top spot on the league table so far, the Porcupine Warriors away record was not the best.
Dr. Sarpong stated that the situation did not augur well for a club that wanted to win the league title this season. He therefore summoned Kotokos Coach Maxwell Konadu to a meeting last week where he expressed his discontent about the clubs poor away performance.
Kotokos Communications Director, Listowell Yesu Bukerson, who was present at the hurriedly arranged meeting in Kumasi, said Dr. Sarpong asked Coach Konadu to do something about the clubs away performance.
According to him, the Kotoko Boss said management and fans of the club wanted nothing short of the league title from Coach Konadu and that he thought the clubs poor away form could not help their cause.
Listowell said Coach Konadu, without hesitation, admitted at the meeting that the Kotoko away performance was also a source of concern to him.
He however attributed Kotokos poor away form to bad pitches which at time made ball control very difficult for the team.
Coach Konadu however gave the assurance that things would be different when the league resumed.
