It has emerged from the Garden City, Kumasi, that Kotoko manager Maxwell Konadu has laid down his tools after guiding the club to its 21st league silverware.
His absence has left a big vacuum in the Red Armys technical department. But the clubs executive chairman K.K. Sarpong has given the assurance that management will make sure a suitable replacement is found ahead of the 2012/13 season.
Speaking during the Kotoko coronation game against Tema Youth at the Baba Yara Stadium last Sunday, K.K. Sarpong said,We will make sure we look for a suitable replacement. He described Konadu as a humble young coach with potential, saying, Maxwell is humble and hardworking; we wish he stays but it is a national call so we have to sacrifice. We wish him well.
Konadu guided Kotoko to win the just-ended Glo Premier League, but had to part company with the Porcupine Warriors following his elevation to assist Kwasi Appiah in the Black Stars job. So far, names like David Duncan, former Ashgold coach and Bashir Hayford, Medeama SC, among others have popped up for the Red Army job.
