AshantiGold goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has said he will work hard to make his Black Stars call-up permanent after he was included in the 24-man squad released on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old was last invited into the national team in 2008 when he was the third choice goalkeeper for Ghana in the African Cup of Nations on home soil.

He obviously will remain a third choice in next month’s games with Adams Kwarasey and Ernest Sowah ranked ahead of him.

The Black Stars will first play against Malawi in the 2013 Afcon qualifier in Accra on September 8 before locking horns with Liberia in an international friendly match in Monrovia three days later.

“I was very happy when I heard the news about my invitation, but the very important thing is for me to go there and make my call-up regular,” Dauda told Goal.com Ghana.

“There are a lot of goalkeepers in the country but the technical handlers chose me as one of the three and I need to justify that,” the former Okwahu United player said.

The shot-stopper helped the Miners to finish second in the 2011-2012 Ghana GLO Premier League and a place in the final of the MTN FA Cup.
