The headline sponsor of the Black Stars, Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has assured the players and technical team of their total support and commitment ahead of the team�s crucial FIFA World Cup play-off against Egypt.
GNPC has guaranteed the Black Stars of their unflinching funding and has promised a 50% winning bonus increment, thus, supposedly from US$ 12,000 to US$ 18,000 as the players already received the former amount as winning bonus during the initial qualification matches.
Speaking to PEACE FM�s PEACE POWER SPORTS, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, confirmed the rise of the Black Stars winning bonus.
�It is true, GNPC has announced to management and the players of a possible 50% increment of wining bonus but the exact amount was not mentioned during the meeting. They assured the team that they will do whatever it takes to motivate them with the help of the government.
��According to them (GNPC), any amount government will give to the technical team and the players, they will increase it to 50%,� he said.
Sannie Daara however did not confirm as to whether the winning bonus had shoot up to US$18,000.
Ghana will host Egypt in Kumasi at the first-leg match of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on the 15th of October.
A win will brighten Ghana�s chance of participating in the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
