Unbeaten AshantiGold defeated Hearts of Oak by a lone goal in an uncompromising ninth week Premier League clash at Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.
Both sides played well throughout, but chances created were all wasted to end the first half scoreless.
Ashgold in the second half put severe pressure on Hearts and it came at no surprise when substitute Safiu Mumuni put his side up in the 47th minute from a goal-mouth melee.
Undaunted by the goal, Hearts took over and attacked in burst for the equalizer, but goalkeeper Robert Dabuo stood between the Phobians and parity.
Ashgold's Emmanuel Osei and Didiar Kore in the 66th and 68th minutes failed to increase the homers lead, wasting glorious opportunities.
