Stephen Adam's form at the Africa Nations Championship has been recognised by his peers and opponents as Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi credits the goalkeeper for Ghana's progress in the competition.

He has arguably been the most consistent performer in the Ghana team and his contribution has not gone unnoticed.

Adams was in superb form, producing an astonishing save in the last minute of extra time to deny Nigeria what would have been the match winner as Ghana went on to win 4-1 on penalties.

The Ghana goalkeeper played through the pain barrier and saved a penalty during the shoot-out to help Maxwell Konadu's side stroll to the finals.

A startled Keshi said, with Adams in post, "you are rest assured."

"I think the goalkeeper did a wonderful job and he is there to do that. He is there to save goals, he is paid to save goals. His career is to save goals so he did a wonderful job," said Keshi.

"I would love it to be at the back of the net but when you see outstanding goalkeeper like that, I think he has been doing a wonderful job throughout this tournament."

Adams has conceded just one goal in four matches in regulation time at the tournament as he goes into the final against Libya on Saturday.

"When you have a goalkeeper like that, you are rest assured that it can go in but it will take time before it goes in and that's what he has proved in this game. I wish him well", the Nigeria coach added.
